I’m nearly there now, its all just down to the glazing. This phase is frustratingly slow, because I make such subtle changes and they need a good long time to dry before I can work over them again.
This painting has been a real challenge for me, and I will be so glad when its done! I really think its just around the corner.
ahh this is the Dreams painting you were talking about…love the motion of the wings and the deep red pinks. it feels like the dreams are stretching beyond the limits of the canvas…
i didn't know glazing takes long to dry with acrylic paint.
I use slowdri blending medium that really lets me get thin transparent layers. I like it a lot better than gloss medium, but it has definite drawbacks because of…. well being slow to dry. 😉
I really do love the painting – I just wish that it wasn't beating me over the head! I was supposed to have it done 3 weeks ago.
